Congratulations to the O'Connell girls cross country team who claimed the 2013 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) title at Lake Fairfax in Reston, Va. last weekend.
It was a true team effort for the Knights, who in the end edged out Good Counsel, 40-47.
The Lady Knights were led by freshman Isabell Baltimore (2nd place), followed closely by junior Therea Matula (6th place) and sophomore Briana Broccoli (8th place). Not far behind were sophomore Gabriella Baltimore (11th place), junior Mackenzie Nihill (13th place) and seniors Mackenzie Smith and Belen Rogers, who finished in 16th and 17th place respectively.
This is the seventh straight WCAC crown for the O'Connell girls.
